The 2026 Yunnan Pickleball City League Kunming Leg (CPC-T600) recently came to a close, bringing together players from different provinces for a series of competitive matches.
The event gave players the opportunity to test their skills against strong opponents while offering local fans plenty of exciting pickleball action. It also helped create greater interest in the sport across Kunming and the wider Yunnan pickleball community.
Kunming City League Comes to a Close
Players representing different provinces competed throughout the Kunming leg, showing a high level of skill and preparation.
The matches featured quick changes between attack and defence, accurate volleys, and powerful overheads. The event also provided a useful opportunity to assess the competitive level of pickleball players within Yunnan.
Although the City League has ended, the action in Kunming is far from over.
Provincial Tour and Selection Event Begin
Following the City League, the 2026 Yunnan Pickleball Tour Kunming Leg and the Yunnan selection event for the 2026 National Pickleball Championships (CPC-600) officially began.
The competition serves two purposes. Players can earn ranking points while also competing for the opportunity to represent Yunnan at the National Pickleball Championships.
For many participants, this makes the event an important step towards competing at a higher level.
Players Compete Across Multiple Categories
The tournament attracted skilled pickleball players from across China.
Events were held in the following categories:

- Women’s Singles
- Men’s Doubles
- Women’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
Senior Division
- Men’s Doubles
- Women’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
Players gave their best throughout the competition as they challenged for a place on Yunnan’s provincial team.
Fast exchanges, accurate volleys, and powerful attacking shots were seen across the courts as players fought for qualification.
Building a Clearer Pathway for Players
The series is organised by the Pickleball and Padel Committee of the Yunnan Tennis Association and follows the CPC tiered competition system.
The City League gives more pickleball enthusiasts the chance to experience organised competition.
The provincial tour and selection event focus on identifying stronger players who may be ready to represent Yunnan at a higher level.
Together, the events create a clearer competitive pathway. Players can begin at local competitions, gain experience, and gradually work towards provincial and national events.
Supporting the Growth of Pickleball in Yunnan
The organising committee plans to continue holding standardised pickleball competitions across Yunnan.
These events aim to introduce more people to the sport, identify talented local players, and improve the province’s overall competitive level.
